The Winning Bag

I finished the bag from my giveaway last week. It will be heading off for Ms. Queen today! Vallen - if you want to be surprised, don't read this post!

She asked for a navy and beige combo, but she got more of a navy and cream combo. The stash can only do so much I guess. The bag is reversible. One side is made of a blue woven fabric...would you call that tweed? Not sure. The vintage scarf was begging to join in.

The other side is a vintage floral pattern. I made the closure from a pin made out of vintage jewelry. The red loop goes around the pin to close. Then obviously the pin moves to the other side if you reverse the bag.

I had a lot of fun making this bag. Especially since I knew it was going to Vallen! It was a challenge to make the bag reversible - the inside has to look as good as the outside. No place to hide mistakes or imperfections. But I think it turned out good. I hope she likes it!

Before I forget - I wanted to thank you all for your kind comments on my craft room. It is one of my favorite places on earth, and I am glad I got to give you a peek into it. If you are ever in the neighborhood, come on over and play okay! Of course of all the days to post those pictures, I pick the day Heather Bailey shows off her studio! WOW - did you guys see that? Gorgeous, but how could you paint and glue and make a big mess in such a beautiful room? I think mine will do just fine!

wow, that bag is awesome...you do such a great job...and reversible even! that is no small feat.

yes, I think that the knifty knitter would make good neckwarmers...I went on provo craft website to get the picture to post today and they had tons of things made with the knifty knitter....may have to go back an explore a little bit more....someone even made leg warmers with them...then of course little sydney already has those now, doesn't she? ;)
and I agree, heather bailey's studio is absolutely gorgeous....but I am just thankful to have a place that I can mess up, leave the mess and shut the door behind me....much better than crafting on the kitchen table.

(sorry, I think my comment is longer than your entire post)

I love the hand bag!! So awesome that you can reverse it!! Sorry I didn't get a chance to comment on your studio! I love that as well! Your new chair rocks too! I was drooling over them while I was at Ikea, too bad we didn't have enough room! I did however get my little wooden man a larger friend.. Did you happen to see that area with them? I think every kid in the place was bending them in every which way! I just couldn't resist!! I also LOVE the color of your walls, is it a greyish blue color?? I still need redo my room, but we are kind of waiting since we might have to turn that into some other type of room in the near future..I just don't know what I would do without my little room, but we will see!!
