I am so excited to share my latest find with you! Yesterday my mother-in-law, Gail, and I went to Hancock Fabrics. I think I mentioned a couple of days ago that ours is going out of business. They are having some pretty good sales, but they are also selling all their store fixtures. As soon as I saw this beauty, I knew she was coming home with me!! I have always wanted a dress form - not to sew with, but to dress up and decorate with! Childish I know, but really it has been so much fun! I'm sure you will be seeing much more of her in the future, she will probably become a pretty permanent fixture around my blog. Sometimes she will probably look a lot like me...
And hopefully, sometimes she will be a more fabulous version of me that is stuck deep inside somewhere!
And now I think its time for another contest! Since we got her in the cart yesterday Gail has been calling her Martha, but it just doesn't seem right. So, I would like your help! Leave a comment with your name suggestion! The winning name will receive a prize from me, yet to be determined but more than likely a handmade purse in the color of your choice! You have all weekend to think up a good name and leave it in my comments. Feel free to leave more than one name and use your imagination!

It funny you asking us for names...'cuz as I was reading the top half of your post I was thinking...she needs a name! How about Penelope or Penny for short?
That is the coolest! I've always wanted one too, but no luck finding one around here. You are lucky you found one and on sale!! Thank you so much for all the information on soldering! I was telling my husband at lunch that I am going to get a soldering gun and he actually said he had one in his work van that I could have!! How exciting..it's the pencil kind even, SCORE! Tomorrow I will search for all my supplies. Thanks again! I really needed something to get me off my keister!
Ingrid.....Bertha.....Greta...oh, I know....Mabel. I like Mabel the best, but if one of the other one gets me a WIN...than whichever!!
:-)
Congrats on the new purchase!
what a great find! did Lee have any choice comments about your new purchase? I can't imagine the flack I would get over purchasing a dress form (even though I would love to have one if I had the room).
Names:
Fiona
Julia
Vera
Millicent
Mildred
Priscilla (sp?)
and actually I do kinda like Martha for her...
oh, I've got it...Taylor!
(I may be back to post some more later!)
The minute I saw 'her' I thought of Audrey Hepburn - so my entry for her name is Audrey.
Anne
I don't sew clothes but I have always thought it would be soooooo cool to have a dress form in my sewing room. I don't have space for one, though. :P I love the "feet" on yours!!!
My suggestion for a name: Juliette
... or maybe Clotilde? Uh no, Juliette. :)
Okay, how about Edie, Matilda, or Tillie? Oh I know, Muriel! That was my Grandma's name!
Since she is going to be modeling your clothes or your creations, she should definately have a models name -
maybe:
Kate (Moss)
Heidi (Klum)
Claudia (Schiffer)
Gisele (Bundchen)
Or if you think she is going to cause problems and be tempermental, you could name her Naomi (after Naomi Campbell)!!
Good luck! ANd congrats on your great addition to your craft room!
Sarah Norman
Oh, I've got another one....Winnifred..." Winny" for short....
I'm still thinking!
As soon as I saw her she screamed "Lola"!!!!
Verushka. Maybe it's the trench coat.
